Untitled (FROM NO PART OF ME COULD I SUMMON A VOICE)

Alberto Tadiello’s work concentrates on the physical manifestations of attraction, tension, and the energy that flows, even if it gives a sensation of danger. Electrical wiring, loudspeakers emitting sounds, become the sculptural elements that invade the two rooms and transmit a sense of tension.

In the sound installation designed for Ca’ Pesaro the technical objects offer a vigorous comment to Giulio Aristide Sartorio’s works, characterised by the muscular strength of the bodies of his Caryatids and the painting dedicated to darkness. The two artists’ works converge without touching, drawing close whilst preserving their reciprocal autonomy. The young artist conceives this installation as “A game of tracks, analogies and parallels, the intimate complicity of two movements”. The sound track comes from “From No Part Of Me Could I Summon A Voice” from the album “New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges” by Colin Stetson, Constellation Records, 2011. The piece is the result of the continuous overlapping of the same file, moving the start by a few seconds each time. The effect is comparable to a series of identical drawings on transparencies, that have been moved slightly: the general meaning of the structure is not lost but it adds an element of trepidation, vibration and being blurred. The effect is one of accelerated aging and a portrait of internal molecular activity. The result is a composition of disengaged sounds and slightly hypnotic; using the artist’s words: “It is a fugue of sounds. An infernal circle. Vertigo. An abyss. Feverish. Vorticose”.

In 2009 he won the seventh editioin of Premio Furla, and in 2011 the New York Prize. He has also taken part in numerous residency programmes organised by Dena Foundation for Contemporary Art (Paris), Gasworks International Residency Programme (London), Villa Arson (Nice), HIAP – Helsinki, International Artist Programme (Helsinki), Viafarini (Milan) and ISCP – International Studio & Curatorial Program (New York).
