LINA BO BARDI. The freedom of architecture.

Project

On the occasion of the 9th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, the University Iuav and the Civic Museums of Venice are proud to present, from the 10th to the 15th of November, at the Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna di Ca’ Pesaro, an exhibition on the work of architect Lina Bo Bardi, conceived and curated by Luciano Semerani, Antonella Gallo and Giovanni Marras.

The Venice exhibition attempts to reread the architectural work of Lina Bo Bardi – the principal art and culture museums of San Paolo, Bahia, Ibirapuera, and the numerous residential homes – in addition to reconstructing her inexhaustible creativity in multiple art forms: as stage and costume designer for the theatre, furniture and jewellery designer, as well as her graphic design work and her projects of urban planning where she succeeded in integrating, in a poor and authentic architecture, the naturalness and communicativeness of common Brazilian culture.
