Venice, Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art – ROOM 10
18 February 27 March 2011
“Room 10” on the first floor of Ca’ Pesaro continues its ‘inclination’ towards space dedicated to contemporary works, local artists, rediscovered and on show for the first time, including works from the Museum collections.
As part of this programme, the first date in 2011 offers several large canvases, all on show for the first time, by Sonia Ros, a young artist who lives and works in Venice and Vittorio Veneto.
These works are dedicated to painting in its deepest sense – “Lupus in Fabula!” – which, without any stereotypical reference whatsoever, are based on artistic creation that ‘focuses’ on emotion and thought.
The period between spring and summer will offer further opportunities in Room 10 for development and in-depth study of the graphic works by two great masters such as Emilio Vedova and Zoran Music while in the autumn several works by the Venetian painter Giovanni Pontini (1915-1970) will be on display for the very first time.
Admission included in the museum ticket during regular opening hours (*)
