SHOZO SHIMAMOTO. From Gutai to Proxima 1955-2004.

From 24th April to 30th May 2004, at the Museum of Oriental Art, this exhibition is realized in collaboration with the BB.CC. Association and curated by Guglielmo Di Mauro, with the support of the Regione Veneto, Provincia di Venezia and the Japanese Culture Institute (The Japan Foundation).

This exhibition give to public the chance to look at and understand the long and articulated path of the work of Shozo Shimamoto, one of the most significant exponent of the artistic revolution after the Second World War. He is a free and eclectic spirit, a protagonist of a complex and original expressive path, displayed in the exhibition through a significant selection of works.

For the vernissage, two performances will be realized: one in the morning reserved to the press and the other at 6 pm, on Friday 23rd April. These performances will be documented through a video and then donated to the Museum.

Also, another performance will be held on 25th April in Mestre area, organized by BB.CC. Association as part of the events Assoexpò. Shozo Shimamoto, with an helicopter, will bomb with color a car collocated in front of the Forte Carpenedeo.
