Google Arts & Culture

Thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia and the Google Cultural Institute, the International Gallery of Modern Art – Ca’ Pesaro is part of Google Arts & Culture: an online platform through which the public around the world can access high-resolution images of works of art in the collections of museums partners in the initiative, with the goal of democratizing access to culture and to promote its preservation for future generations.

Ca’ Pesaro is now online with two “exhibitions” as part of Klimt vs Klimt, the new interactive hub paying tribute to the great Viennese artist Gustav Klimt, bringing together more than 30 international cultural institutions.

The first exhibition on Google Arts & Culture, dedicated to Judith II, Venezia 1910, recounts the story of the artwork from its creation to its arrival at the International Gallery of Modern Art at Ca’ Pesaro. The second exhibition, Up Close With Klimt‘s Judith II, reveals every detail of the painting, also thanks to Google Art Camera technology, which makes it possible to capture artworks in ultra-high resolution, allowing viewers to zoom into brushstrokes and discover details that would otherwise remain invisible.
