The collection of the Prints & Drawings Cabinet contains more than 3,000 individual sheets and includes works from the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa Collection and other collections on permanent loan to public offices. The complete catalogue was published in 2002. The Cabinet documents the graphic work of those artists, from the early 19th century to present day, whose paintings and sculptures are on display in the main Gallery. It is therefore an essential tool for anyone studying the collections.
The collection includes works of the main exponents of European Symbolism, from Whistler to Klinger, Munch to Brangwin, as well as of major French Post-Impressionist artists, such as Bonnard and Matisse, and the Pop Artist Robert Rauschenberg. Among the most important Italian artists represented are Favretto, Ciardi, Nono, Sartorio and, from the 20th century, Alberto Martini, Boccioni, Previati, De Pisis, Arturo Martini and Gino Rossi. Also represented are masters of the Italian post-war period, such as Vedova, Pizzinato, Santomaso and Music.
The collection may be consulted by appointment with the Museum curator.
